I will say that I gave this 4 stars because I had a problem with my first screen, but not my second one. My first screen came very fast, and was well packaged. I watched a video on YouTube on how to replace it, and dove in. I had the old one out in a few minutes, but learned quickly that you have to snap the daughter board up from the bottom and "hinge it over" to remove the little digitizer wire. It is no big deal if you are rough on it with the old screen, so experiment with that one on how to best open that hinged board, because you have to do it again on the new one, and if you break that, you are in trouble, so be careful. Anyway, when I hooked it up, it would not power on. You need to check all fittings and try to power it on before you snap it back into the back board. I tried 3 times and it would not power up, so I put the old cracked one back in, and it powered up right away. So I got on the chat line on their website and within minutes they were offering to send me a new one and a prepaid shipping label for the old one. I got the new one in two days, put it in, and powered it on and it came right on, so the first one must have had a demon. Then I removed the protective tape on the side bar sticky mounts and snapped it back in. I will say that it didn't fit quite as good as the original. It felt ever so much larger, but I got it all snapped in, and it works perfectly and it doesn't fall out, so all is good. I would have given 4.5 stars if I could have I guess. It was better than throwing out a 6 month old computer, and my son learned what being "gentle" means when handling his laptop from now on. These are made to be gentle with, not slam into your backpack. Buy with confidence.
Product works great! Here are a few hints though:Pay attention to the model numbers included.Watch the installation video.Take your time removing and installing the screen is FRAGILE!The plugs are TINY! So big fingers and shakey hands are not recommended.Make sure to REBOOT the system after the first boot to check the screen. So Windows can properly identify the touch and the screen. (Mine had to re-install drivers)This product is a little bit thicker. It really needed to be for durability.
The screen on my sons HP Pavilion x360 14m-cd0003dx laptop was cracked after it dropped on the floor. I was going to purchase another laptop before I came upon this. I watched the YouTube video as shown above in the description, as well as another one to determine how to get the battery out before changing the display (this is important). It looked pretty straightforward and I decided to give it a shot. In all I was able to change the display in about a couple of hours.Couple of notes on this: (1) disconnecting and connecting the flex cables is tricky and takes time, (2) once you power up the laptop with the new display it will take some time for the laptop to boot as you will get a BIOS checksum error (expected as display changed). Press enter and the laptop should reboot and then the display will operate.
