★★★★★ This HP Pavilion Laptop 15.6" with 16 gigabytes of RAM and a 256 gigabyte solid state drive is lightning fast in booting up and opening programs, and the display provides excellent resolution. The soundcard and speakers are a definite improvement on my previous HP Pavilion laptop. Like many new laptops these days, there are only two conventional USB ports and no ethernet connector, but an inexpensive USB splitter hub remedies the former shortcoming. The built-in WIFI network adapter is good, but use of an ethernet-USB adapter provides a much faster network connection. After more than a week of use, I am very pleased.
★☆☆☆☆ This arrived unable to connect to the internet, which makes it very difficult to troubleshoot anything. I tried with HP support, which wasn't very helpful. Then I went to Amazon for assistance. After they took all of my info and left me on hold for awhile, they hung up on me. I decided that it wasn't a good sign to be pushing this hard with a brand new computer and sent it back. I usually like HP and think this may have just been a fluke, but I feel it necessary to warn about this particular product.
