User reviews

This is my second MSI laptop (MSI Apache Pro), my MSI experience has been very good. My review for this laptop is mixed but not due to the laptop itself this thing is awesome. The reason I gave four stars is due to the lack of information provided about the upgrades. In the description it says the ssd has been upgraded to 1TB, what it doesn’t tell you is that with this upgrade you lose all the programs that come with MSI laptops. Some programs are bloatware but some are not. For example, MSI has a RGB Steelseries keyboard but without the steelseries software you have no control over the lighting patterns. Nvidia has software so you can better control your gaming experience, this software is missing as well. The software is easy to find and download but if you never had a computer with this software you probably wouldn’t know what to look for. Its just too simple for them to reinstall the necessary software for it to be missing. Steelseries, Nvidia GeForce Experience, Dragon Center and whatever audio software they took off (I downloaded DTS) should be reinstalled or mentioned in the description. This way you can have the best experience from your keyboard, GPU, CPU and audio. Personally I like the fact that the ssd and hdd are so clean, I just think they should tell you what was removed so you can decide what to add back.My review for the computer is 5 stars, this thing smokes my Apache Pro, I thought that thing was a beast. The AP does look better with its black brushed steel finish. The Leopard’s cooling system is MUCH better and the overall size is smaller with the same size screen, and the colors pop. I have around 100 games on steam (Scum, Ark, The Crew 1 & 2, Rust...) and none of them will get this thing breathing hard. Don’t get me wrong, MSI runs warm already but I needed an extra external fan with the AP with some games.I would still rather have this upgraded version over the standard. The Ram and storage are worth it.
Unless you're trying to go ultra and spend 4k$ on your purchase for a pc. I would say this laptop gives all the bang for your buck. And I really can't find a better price out there for what you get with this laptop either. I run all games on highest settings and they hit from 80fps up to 140fps. It needs a cooling fan for it definately and the fan does get a lil loud but easy to tune out. Especially is you have a headset. Plus my buddy bought a 4k pc tower with an rtx 3080 and his pc barely clocks higher if not the same as mine for new games that have been coming out.....for now. Having a powerful pc is just something else.
I bought this for my son and he says it's great. He's very excited to have something this nice.
