★☆☆☆☆ lasted 6 months and now it won't turn on.. I hardly used it..
★★★★★ I wanted an NVIDIA RTX 2060 budget gaming laptop, trying to maximize the specs for my money. Willing to sacrifice some overall design and materials, and this is exactly what this laptop is. more than capable of handling demanding pc gaming and even Oculus Link VR games. highly recommended. lighter and thinner than what i expected, which is good. Temperature, battery life and fan noise as expected from a Gaming laptop.
★★★★☆ The short answer is 'YES'. Yes it will run nearly everything at high settings. The long answer is: You will want to do some minor upgrades to this computer to make it perform its best. The NVMe SSD included is quite small (500GB) and for an M.2 SSD not very fast. Also the amount of ram is just abysmal. I added a 1TB NVMe SSD that is about 2x faster than the one included and I removed the Ram and put in 2 16 GB sticks for a total of 32GB of RAM. I did this almost immediately and it added about $200 in cost. I also rarely use it as a "laptop". Its mostly on my desk connected to a 1440p 32" monitor that is in most ways superior to the screen that ACER included. I also have some 'pebble' speakers that have MUCH better sound than the the tiny little buttons they put in this PC. So my overall experience has been vastly improved over the stock setup for this machine. I also purchased the NITRO 5 (AN5155470KK) when it was still around $700.THE SCREEN - is ...okay. Its got a high refresh rate 144hz so it doesnt have issues with motion interpolation which is good but its a basic 1080p monitor in every other way.THE GRAPHICS - Yes. Ray Tracing. You name it. It does it. Of course this comes at a cost. Power. It uses it and FAST. Minecraft usually kills the battery in a little over an hour. Now it does have an integrated intel graphics chip you can use instead for MUCH better battery life but of course that one SUCKS.THE SOUND - No. You will absolutely want to use something else to get your sound. These speakers are terrible.THE KEYBOARD - Its red. Full sized and the lights can be turned off if you like.THE PORTS - It has an HDMI out which the 2060 RTX uses. It has an USB C port which the Intel IGC uses if for some crazy reason you want to send your screen to an external device but dont have an HDMI option or ...just want no graphics? Two USB 3.0 ports and a USB 2.0. Of course the usual power adapter port and headphone jack are also present. These are all on either side of the unit. Nothing on the back or the front.FAN NOISE - Yeah, a bit. Usually when running a game for a while it will crank up the fans and you definitely can hear them but I wouldn't call them "loud", even at max speed. Noticeable, certainly.BATTERY LIFE - Honestly its pretty bad, but as I stated before its the trade off for having a mobile 2060 RTX. You can get more life of course but the trade off is really drastic so I really wouldn't recommend playing games with this PC without an outlet near by.Overall I like this laptop very much and the upgrades I made definitely improve it quite a bit. That said the current asking price of $1000+ seems quite high for this PC as it is.
