The product worked fine for 3 months. It was easy to use, and had all the capabilities my child required for virtual school (mostly run on Google meets and Zoom). 3 months after we received it, the device stopped working completely - black screen even when power was on. I spent an hour with Acer customer support. They tried to walk me through a system recovery, but the device would not execute the recovery. My daughter begins virtual school in one week. I asked the customer service to replace my product, but they refused. They will only agree to have me ship it to the factory for service, and I must wait 3+ weeks for repair. I argued that breaking after 3 months of use indicates product defect, and that they should replace it. It is under full warranty. They will not do so. So, I am warning parents to consider another chrome book product, as the company - ACER - will not stand behind their products when defective.
Trash! I bought this item in March and it broke in May, right after the return window. I had to beg Amazon to send me a replacement. Guess what, that one broke 5 months later in September. Same issue the chromebook would not charge. It just died while plugged in and that was it. The same thing happened three separate times on three different chromebooks --- same model. There must be a defect with this model. It was so expensive, I expected a much better product. It is unacceptable that Acer is selling this piece of trash for over $300. It is not worth $50.
Read several good reviews and decided to go with the Acer Spin 11 as a new machine for my 9 year old in anticipation of extended remote learning in the fall, but am returning it. Slow response, keyboard sporadically not working for minutes at a time, spongy keys and a semi-responsive touchpad. Hard to fathom the positive reviews - maybe I got a dud.
