★★★☆☆ This is a fairly nice little slide door. It's smaller than you would guess by the pictures. The problem for the Surface Pro is that it has a line of FOUR apertures side by side up top from the camera lens to a light sensor(?) to the camera ON light and the microphone opening. If you try to use this you get to choose which of those apertures you want to block. I tried installing it a couple of ways but it still interferes. I'd guess it works great if you only have one or two apetures/indicator lights to cover, but it doesn't work with my Surface Pro 4.
★★★☆☆ Aluminum vs plastic, who wins? Aluminum. Out of the box (Big box of plastic for just one, manufacturers need to think about the environment!) It's easy to install but I forgot not to be so trustful on things like this and I didn't look for sharp edges, well first slide I scratched my laptop, not noticeable for other people besides the owner (me). You have to be careful when sliding this thing, always support your fingers mostly on top of the base otherwise the top part will bent down when you slide It and It will scratch whatever this is mounted on.I learnt to sometimes not try to fix things because they can get worse so I'll have to live with this little scratch and be more careful when sliding this thing.It looks OK, this is not necessary, I bought it because is aluminum and I can recycle it in my opinion whenever I want to trash it but I wasn't expecting the big plastic box this thing came in, that I'll see what I am going to do with it, That's why I give three starts!!!
★★★★☆ This is a sleek, clean way to cover the camera. The opening is much larger than other cheap models. We will see if it stays on longer than few weeks. My only suggestion is that it should slide open to the left so the slide doesn't cover the camera indicator light. I installed mine upside down - easy solution. (meaning the logo is upside down - no big deal)I would buy again.
