★☆☆☆☆ I bought the top of the line Zephurs gaming laptop gx531. The fan started to make clunking noise only a month later. Before warranty expiration, I submitted RMA and sent it back for repair. I detailed the issue in the RMA and requested them to REPLACE the fan, since many people on a laptop forum had similar issue, and mentioned it had to be replaced.A month later it was 'repaired' and sent back. Only a week later, the fan noise came back and hunting me like a ghost everyday since then. Fast forward six months, the noise become so loud that I have to shut down the laptop, and restart it. It may make it better, or not. So I reached out to Asus support again, requesting a RMA. I stressed that this is a lingering issue because Asus didn't replace the fan at first attempt. However, after going back and forth with the CS for almost a hour, he initially agreed to issue RMA, then changed his mind a couple mins later, and ask me to pay for 'DIAGNOSTIC FEE' of 85 bucks first. I was laughing because I have done that for Asus already, twice.I tried my best to make this right and reasonable, but the CS kept asking for payment. I didn't know what made him back-stepping on earlier agreement. So now, I'm trying to look for replacement parts on eBay and AliExpress, and hopefully I can get a good fan first. Will I ever buy an ASUS laptop? Yes, only if it's dirty cheap. After your purchase, be prepared for these quality issues and the hustle of dealing with Asus support/repair.
