  ★★★★★ The W3 webcam cover is the best I have used so far. The difference lies in the base. Many other webcam covers use a backless oval base - think the number 0 - with a slide inserted. This allowed the slide to pop out easily and frequently. The W3 has a solid backed base, which holds the slide much more effectively. The thin design is unobtrusive and does not stick out above the raised edges of my camera case, thus further ensuring that the W3 stays in place. This is the 3rd webcam cover I have tried. It has now lasted app. 45 days without falling off or coming apart, thus making it the best I have used so far.

  ★☆☆☆☆ I picked these things up to replace the strip of electrical tape that has done the job on my laptops for years and to add the privacy to my iPhone and iPad. Two big issues.THE WARNING: Be very careful putting it on the new MacBook Pro 16" models or similar laptops that don't have much clearance between the screen and the computer when closed. Let's just say I'm glad I had AppleCare. I should have been more careful and researched a little more. I'll accept responsibility. But be careful...THE SIDE NOTE: While I'm back to an app to monitor my camera and mic on the MacBook, I still have these on my iPhone 8+ and iPad Pro. They do the job but I wouldn't purchase again because, especially on my phone which is in and out of my pocket a lot, the slider opens and closes way too easily for me. I often randomly look and notice that it's open again, though I never opened the shutter on purpose. I thought there was some kind of magnet or something to keep it in place, but there doesn't appear to be any resistance on mine.Hope that helps someone. I was going to go with two stars but frankly, it shouldn't be that hard to make one of these that works properly. If it doesn't stay closed, you might as well not have it. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 1-star.
