This computer is a replacement for my primary main business computer. I now have a Gen 1 Intel HP Pavilion 17” notebook computer I am still using as my backup computer. I have not had a problem with it in the 10 years or so I have had it. I use my computers to produce construction schedules with Oracle products and with typical windows office programs. I also use Sketchup for 3D designing and then rendering of photorealistic images. I find the extra large screen and Nvidia graphics hardware a must. This is a great computer and I would recommend it to family and friends.
I got this HP laptop due to my old one was just getting out dated. I got an HP because I'm comfortable with them and didn't need to learn new quirks. I don't play a lot of games but this laptop does a nice job when I do. It has speed and versatility to get all tasks handled well for average users. Very easy to set up. It didn't come loaded with much bloatware. It looks good and the screen looks great. I may upgrade to 12 or 16 GB of RAM which looks to be easy. I love the lighted keypad, although I had to go into Bios and extend the timeout. The battery is probably the biggest issue with this laptop,[and probably most HPs], it just doesn't last very long. I even took pains to "break it in" per HP's suggestions, but still lacking. However I usually keep it plugged in so it's not an issue for me. Just be aware. All in all a nice, easy to use general use and light gaming laptop. Not inexpensive but serious gamers should probably look higher. For me it does well.
I've had this up and running for a couple months, now, and I'm very happy with it. I wanted something I could use with the Quest 2 VR headset without breaking the bank, and this has worked out perfectly. Runs about 90+ percent of games on Oculus and Steam VR according to performance tests. Worked seamlessly with the Anker USB C cable. I haven't had a single hiccup of any kind with normal daily use and with VR. It comes loaded with HP's software for maintenance, driver updates, and warranty registration that really makes the whole process painless. The lighted keyboard has been very helpful. I highly recommend this laptop.
