★★★★★ When I opened the package, I actually felt a little disappointed. It looks a bit plasticky, maybe a little slipshod. But I've been using it about a week now, and it turns out it's actually just about perfect.* It fits a MacBook Pro 15" exactly. You never see the thing.* The grippy texture is perfect on both top and bottom: they are different kinds of grippy, and one is good for a laptop and the other, for your lap. Very pleased.* The mouse tray works fine, though I don't need it most of the time* The heat-shielding effect is huge. I didn't realize how warm my lap was actually getting until I started using this thing and felt the difference.* It's too thick to fit comfortably into my thin backpack along with my laptop, but the thickness is just right on my lap. So I just bought one for each of home and office: problem solved.* It's lightweight enough to easily move around and so forth.All in all, very pleased.

They were either too big to fit between the arms of my armchair or too small to accommodate both my laptop and a mouse. I also needed the option of ambidextrous mousing. This desk has it all! The added bonus of having a retractable mouse tray makes this tray so freaking handy I could cry. I can stuff it in my backpack, right along with my laptop and take it everywhere I go. It's my laptop's new best friend.
★☆☆☆☆ The title says it all: this is supposed to be a platform for a computer that protects one’s lap from heat. The product image shows a MacBook Pro sitting happily atop the device. Great concept, poor execution.First, this is a product reference designed by one company to be used by multiple manufacturers. One is able to find many different manufacturers selling this same product, the badge on the top just is different.Regarding that badge: it’s so thick my MacBook Pro is propped up in the center so much that only 2 or 3 of the feet touch the rubberized surface.Regarding that surface: it’s so smooth that my MacBook Pro slips and slides across the top of the platform with every tap of the keyboard.Look somewhere else if you don’t want to waste your hard-earned money.
