★☆☆☆☆ I tried to save money by searching carefully (based on the numbers on my current charger) for a new Dell original charger. Unfortunately, when I received it, it clearly was not the same thing. As you can see from the photos, the charger I received (top one) was much larger, the plug into the computer was longer (but it wiggled and didn't fit tight anyway), and although I'd matched the numbers in my search, one of the tiny numbers on the new charger was different.My computer guru suggested I plug it in to my computer without plugging it into an outlet to be safe (otherwise it can cause problems) and that's when I discovered the prong doesn't even fit right into my computer.It's not the same charger. I'm returning it.My computer guy said sometimes you can get the right thing via Amazon, but you have to check it very carefully and make sure it all matches and this did not. I'm going to buy from Dell to be safe.

Unplugging the OEM supply and taking it out to the car for every mobile use was not going to be practical.The computer is an Inspiron 14, 5000 model and this LA45NM140 KXTTW works exactly like the supply that shipped with it. The markings on the back of the two are slightly different, but the amperage and voltage ratings are an exact match, as is the computer-side power plug.A 12v to 120v adapter was the only thing I needed to get the Dell running. Plug and go.
★★★★★ I wasn’t careful enough and let myself get led from what I searched for to something of lower wattage but it’s okay. It will work! My bad but mercy prevailed. Had I bought a charger locally it would have been three times the price. This showed up so fast it covers my blunder.
