★★★★★ So Amazon and this replacement battery saved my presentation! Yesterday, I went to turn on my computer to work on an important presentation for work that I have to give on Thursday only to find that the battery on my 8 year old Dell Inspiron N7010 was dead. I ordered this replacement battery on my cell phone from Amazon prime and it arrived in one day (today) in plenty of time for me to work on my presentation and be able to present on my laptop on Thursday. I don't know what the battery life is on this but for the price and the fact that it not only came the next day but worked right out of the box and was a work lifesaver, it deserves 5 stars. I did try to order a much more expensive battery replacement from a brick and mortar store but they told me it would take 2 weeks for it to arrive from California and it was $137. Granted, it is probably a better battery and will probably last longer than this inexpensive one from Amazon but right now, this inexpensive baby is doing the job!I will update again with a status on battery life. I'm curious myself as to how long this battery will last.
★☆☆☆☆ I ordered on December 7th and as of last week, it no longer works. Now the laptop won't even turn on unless it's plugged in... Even when the laptop shows that the battery is 98% to 100% fully charged, the minute you unplug the charger, the laptop turns off.This is disappointing as it appears to only work just long enough to pass the return and replacement window on Amazon.
★★★★★ I just received the battery last night. I plugged it in and booted. I received no errors or "not Dell" complaints upon boot. After logging into my account I found the battery at 50% charge and charging. This morning the battery was fully charged. In short, the installation went flawlessly on my Dell Inspiron M5040, Windows 7 portable. I will update if I have anything further to report.
